New in February 2022!
Kristin is the new staff midwife at Richland’s new birth center.

About Kristin Eggleston, LM, CPM

Kristin started her path to midwifery with the homebirth of her son in 2002. Her own birth experience was the impetus that linked her previous interest in medicine and anthropology with her new interest in natural health and parenting.  Both her children have been born at home with midwives.

She started Sunrise Midwifery in March 2009 after completing all the requirements to become a Licensed Midwife (LM) in Washington State and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) nationally.  Kristin graduated from a three year, intensive midwifery education that included both classwork and clinical experience, as well as attending births in homes, birth centers, and hospitals in Washington, Idaho, and Texas.

She currently works with the Midwives’ Association of Washington State and many local entities to improve birth in Washington State.  She worked with MAWS and the WA Perinatal Coalition to bring the Smooth Transitions program to the Yakima Valley.  She works hard to develop and maintain a professional relationship with our clients, other midwives, doulas, and additional medical providers.

In addition, Kristin has published several articles about midwifery and continues her education in the field, with over 130 hours of continuing education from 2016 to the present.

She is now extremely excited to be able to provide midwifery care in a new setting, Columbia Birth Center, with a group of amazing providers and colleagues.
